As a Deep Ecologist myself, I find it horrifying that many current environmentalists think that we should try to geo-engineer the climate in response to our own pollution. As a Non-Violence idealist myself, I find it horrifying that many current environmentalists prefer using the government's powers of systemic coercion using government's one unique characteristic that makes it distinct from NGOs like the National Trust for Britain's national parks (which is not a governmental bureaucracy): government's monopoly on legitimate violence. The best solutions are purely voluntary, which means not using government. The proper solution to climate change is to rewild the planet, focusing on habitat restoration, and to minimize human effects on the environment in any form (negligently bad in the case of pollution, or hubristically well-intentioned but dangerously close to creating unintended consequences worse than the original climate change problem, as in geo-engineering by environmentalist do-gooders). The proper solution to climate change is for humanity to adopt a prepper mindset for all the hopefully trillions of years of our future so that we can always help out other humans on other planets as all planets inevitably face regular catastrophes.
