Before the 20th century, most people never went more than a few miles from their birthplace during their entire lives. Israel's blockade (justified after Hamas continued attacking Israel after 2005 despite Israel pulling out of Gaza in 2005) makes Gaza effectively a landlocked country. Both are normal. The situations of Gazans is not a camp - It is the normal condition of humanity, and if they would only stop attacking non-Muslims, then Israel would life the blockade and they could join the modern world if they want to. But Gazans are choosing to behave like the pre-modern world, and so their living situation is no different from a normal pre-modern situation in some respects. (But they still get some electricity and supplies, whatever Hamas has been leaving normal Palestinians after Hamas takes its cut to continue attacking non-Muslims.)
