I support teaching "Black History Month" in schools. I just don't think that events like this should have staff-workers across the entire economy (government & private sector) dedicating their work-efforts towards this education. As a taxpayer, especially government workers should not be using their work-time on this education, but that's what happens. If government workers want to volunteer outside of workhours at the NSA museum to set up educational exhibits about these themes, then sure. But not on the taxpayer dime. When you look at each of these topics individually in isolation, they all seem worthy. However, in aggregate they cause mass inefficiencies. Too many government workers spend too large a % of their workhours not doing the core mission work they were hired to do on behalf of the citizen-taxpayer. So, I support the current presidential administration’s efforts to refocus government workers back onto their core mission tasks.
