If I were a single middle-aged man on the dating market, there's no way I'd be willing to be a stepdad for a woman whose children come from bad decisions not to date men like me in her 20s/30s but rather get herself knocked up by irresponsible men she was having flings with and now I have to use my resources to raise that irresponsible man's children. No way. On the other hand, there're country songs about a woman whose husband died, and the singer gives thanks for the man who married and raise him as a stepson. I could do that. As a man, you can't know until you start to get to know your date.
