If that were true then the proportion of Muslims and Christians in Palestinian society would stay the same as both left in equal rates. But the opposite is happening: Palestinian Christians are going down, while Muslim Palestinians are going up. And furthermore, your attempted counterpoint doesn't at all explain why the number of Christians in Israel is going up.
