No one is banning books. Book banning is like in Fahrenheit 451 where the government forbids even private citizens from having the books in their homes. No one is actually doing that. If you think Democrats haven't spent decades going around altering textbook texts and taking books like Dr Seuss out of libraries, then you're gaslighting. While I don't like Democrats taking Dr Seuss out of libraries, both that and Republicans doing this book curation (what it actually is) is entirely legitimate democratically. Shelf space is limited; library and school resources are also limited. It is the proper role of democratic government to align those limited resources with the values upon which the politicians were democratically elected. It is legitimate for Democrats to curate books like taking Dr Seuss and Huckleberry Finn out, and what De Santis is doing is legitimate too.
