The entire point of environmentalism is to pretend to do something significant so we can feel good about ourselves, not to actually do something significant. Buy solar panels that outsource production pollution to China! Ignore wind and solar total lifecycle pollution, but then pretend to care about total lifecycle pollution for other goods! It's not me who's really all that bad, it's other people, so let's use government's coercive powers to make them do better! That’ll build good community!
