The proof that I am not alone in my criticisms of sociocracy and Holacracy is contained in this very article that you're commenting on: that the Bay Area chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America noticed the exact same deficit of democracy in the default sociocracy rules and changed the default sociocracy rules in the exact way I recommend to make it actually democratic. It is also proven by members of the sociocracy.groups.io list that we've discussed these issues in which other members have admitted to changing the default sociocracy rules in exactly this same way to make the rules truly democratic - Those members merely refrain from explicitly pointing out that the default rules actually aren't that democratic.
