Thinking that society rebuilding sustainably after a collapse is a good thing will leave humanity completely exposed to extinction-level events that will happen and will kill all of humanity if we don't settle the stars to have multiple bases of support when (not if, but when) particular places regularly face extinction-level natural disasters.
