Uh, no, the Soviet Union expanded Russian colonialism by turning Poland, East Germany, Cuba, other African & Latin American countries, into literally the same thing as colonies in every way that counts, and the Soviet Union recolonized the Baltics after they had gained temporary independence in the early 20th century. Words are meaningless. Soviets saying words like “anti-colonialism” was and is meaningless. Only actions and results matter, and the Soviet Union’s actions and results against these conquered nations was no different from colonialism. If you were to sample the people of Eastern Europe about whether their Soviet status was effectively the same as colonies, they would say yes.
