I think you know that most readers, such as myself, would find your behavior more admirable; it'd be nice to know that it probably is also more evolutionarily effective. The plural of anecdote isn't data, buuuuut since you did have more children, that seems to me a good sign that behavior we all find instinctively admirable is also more evolutionarily effective.
