What really matters in the end is: Are the consequences for similar acts also similar? Trump has more legal reason to hold on to (potentially formerly) classified docs. First, Trump had authority as POTUS to declassify whatever he wanted to; Biden as VP, and Hillary, did not. Second, it is common for former POTUSs to build a Presidential Library, which requires retaining docs and weeding out still classified docs, whereas Biden as VP should have just turned everything over. Trump had a legitimate retention process to wade through, while Biden as VP and Hillary much less complicated. Third, Hillary opened up classified docs to the whole world with an insecure email server. The situations of all three are very different, and in Trump’s case it is the most legitimate that he would have still had (potentially formerly) classified docs. Therefore Trump should be facing the least serious consequences, but instead he has faced the most severe: am FBI raid conducted by the DoJ, the personnel of which are nearly 100% Democrats enforcing their one party rule over the federal government. It is normal for Presidential Libraries to have classified docs. The Democrats who populate the administrative state have weapon used against their political opponents, which is not good for democracy. https://www.archives.gov/presidential-libraries/declassification
