Yeah, I feel like it tends (tends, not always the case, but tends) to be the case that people who have not spent time living outside of first world accommodations get all ignorantly self-righteous about foreign affairs. Also, I feel like that mass Stockholm Syndrome is a big aspect of this too: People want the fighting to end, and subconsciously they know they can't reason with extremist Muslims like Hamas, and so they take Hamas's side and tell the Jews to change something because they subconsciously know that the Jews are reasonable and do actually regularly try new ways to establish peace. The hope that the more moral side might be able to fix the situation by becoming eve more moral than before. It's a type of mass Stockholm Syndrome.
