You're missing the fact that the original author missed his own point. Yes, he advocates teaching kids to think critically, but he fails to mention one of the most important aspects of critical thinking: Asking for as much data, and as rigorous studies, as possible, and how to assess studies for rigor. And then the author doesn't use data or studies, just analogies to early 20th century sanitization efforts, at all in his own about face definitively suggesting that kids should be given social media. The author himself is not using critical thinking.
