You realize that Taiwan's microchip factories get both their designs and their equipment from the free world, right? The equipment comes mainly from the Netherlands and from Japan. Like you pointed out, if the PRC invades, that equipment is likely going to be sabotaged/destroyed. And the PRC's not going to be able to replace it.
